Gorgeous women I like

Why don't women look like this anymore? This is worth aspiring to. Personally, I believe it has been due to the decline of good design in undergarments. What is the fashion world thinking? Lycra? What's that? Stretchy tops? Noooo! We want perfectly tailored, feminine figure flattering forms, Betty Grable style high heels, sexy off the shoulder numbers, sophisticated, film noir, and in no way Britney! Trash is just trash whichever way you look at it. Cover up, don't make yourself so available and retain charm and mystique. OK? Got it?

Ava Gardner Elegance, Style, WOW! What a woman!

Sophia Loren In this most famous photograph from 'The Millionairess' (1960)

Jane Russell Hello Gemima! I also have a thing for cowboys.

Marilyn Monroe Yes, I love corsets.

I know there are some pretty girls nowadays, but where are the WOMEN with REAL CURVES who are CLASSY, not trashy?

Possibly in the guise of Catherine Zeta-Jones? Although, I would rather see her in corsets.

Also, another one I quite fancy is Eliza Dushku, although she is seriously lacking curves. Shame, She's exceptionally pretty and feisty.

I also prefer brunettes.

And don't forget this one redhead.

I think what I'm getting at is the old fashioned glamour, romance, sexiness. Not this blatant popcorn in your face easy cheap pop. Its just not on, people!

Jane Mansfield's daughter stars in Law and Order.

Stars now, who are kinda like Stars of Yore would probably be: Mira Sorvino, Sharon Stone, Nicollette Sheridan, Cybil Shepard, Kathleen Turner (both bubbled a bit in later life), Liv Tyler, Natalie Portman, Kate Beckinsale, Helen Bonham Carter, Rene Zelliwhatsacallit, and the quintessential Michelle Pfieffer.

Guys are harder to pin down, but I am a fan of Johnny Depp, Matt Damon, Keiffer Sutherland, Hugh Jackson, Vin Diesel, and Pierce Brosnan as Bond.

For animations, i totally dig the Pixar characters, and the modern Disney cartoon films.

Lucky I don't hand out Oscars huh?

mmm I'm still not sure I agree that the ladies on your list really can compare with the finesse of the old style stars. 'Glamour' today does not mean the same thing as it did then.

I'm with you there as far as Hugh Jackman, though. Cheers for the input. Always interesting to see where others are coming from.

The others are just too young to be classy. And the older ladies are too jaded and been around the block to be mysterious... Did like Kathleen turner very much in her youth, though. LOVED Romancing the Stone.

    hmm.

lets not forget, despite bacall's recent words about 'legends only being so when they are older' she, ava, joan, jane, kathrine, audrey were all stars when they were young. look into it - its true.

we are usually dragged into the false sense of class and elegance by:
    - the era, its style (hats, suits, elegant dresses, prim and proper atire and manners)
    - the b&w film - it always adds panache
    - the films and stories themselves - they lack the flash and cheapness of hollywood today

there is something here - in hitchcocks films, i always admired james and grace and cary. what i didnt know was that grace was a bit of a goer, so was james. what seemed like gents and ladies who behaved well, was just a little misleading.

anyways, none of this changes anything. its all personal and i know jack-s*&%^ about anything. Just like olde movies thats all.

    heh.
